The Creator’s Ultimate Checklist: Launching on Adult Platforms the Right Way
Print it, screenshot it, tattoo it on your heart. Everything you need to tick off before (and right after) your big launch.
Launching on an adult platform is exciting, but it’s also easy to forget something important in the rush. This checklist is your best friend. Work through it section by section and you’ll launch feeling calm, confident and properly prepared. Tick them off as you go. There’s nothing more satisfying, trust us.
Phase 1: Decide your direction
Before you sign up anywhere, get clear on what you’re building.
- Choose your platform(s). OnlyFans, Fansly, Fanvue or LoyalFans? Compare fees, payouts and audiences in our platform comparison.
- Pick your niche. Write one sentence that describes who you are and what fans get.
- Write down your boundaries. What you will and won’t create, now and in the future.
- Decide: face or faceless? Both can work brilliantly, but choose before you post.
- Set a realistic goal. For example, “50 subscribers in 90 days” or “$500 in month one”.
Phase 2: Protect your identity
Do this before anything goes public. It’s so much harder to undo later.
- Choose a stage name and check it isn’t already used by another creator.
- Create a dedicated email address just for your creator business.
- Use a password manager and unique passwords for every account.
- Turn on two-factor authentication on every platform and email account.
- Set up geo-blocking for locations where you don’t want to be found.
- Strip EXIF/location data from photos and check backgrounds for identifying details.
- Consider a business address or PO box for any paperwork or deliveries.

Phase 3: Get the paperwork sorted
The unsexy bit. Future you will be so grateful.
- Have valid government ID ready. All major platforms verify age and identity.
- Open a separate bank account for creator income and expenses.
- Check your payout options and minimum withdrawal amounts on your chosen platform.
- Register as self-employed (or the equivalent where you live) if required.
- Set up a simple income and expense tracker. A spreadsheet is fine to start.
- Plan to save 25–30% of payouts for tax and speak to an accountant.
- Get model release forms signed for anyone who appears in your content.
Phase 4: Build your content bank
Never launch to an empty page.
- Shoot 20–30 posts in advance so new subscribers have plenty to enjoy.
- Prepare 5–10 PPV sets ready to send in welcome and mass messages.
- Create safe-for-work teasers for social media promotion.
- Invest in basic lighting. A ring light or softbox makes a huge difference.
- Plan a weekly content calendar with themes (for example, “Lingerie Monday”).
- Watermark your content with your stage name or handle to discourage leaks.
Phase 5: Set up your profile
- Upload a high-quality avatar and banner that match your brand.
- Write a bio with personality that tells fans exactly what they get.
- Set your subscription price (and bundles for 3, 6 and 12 months).
- Write your welcome message for new subscribers.
- Pin a welcome post that shows off your best content.
- Schedule your first week of posts so the page feels alive from day one.
Phase 6: Prepare your promotion
Remember, most platforms don’t bring you fans. You do.
- Create (or rebrand) social accounts on 2–3 platforms that suit your style.
- Read each platform’s rules on adult content and links. Our social media playbooks help.
- Set up a link-in-bio page that’s allowed on your chosen platforms.
- Find 10–20 relevant subreddits and read their posting rules carefully.
- Prepare a launch announcement with a limited-time discount or free trial.
- Block out daily promo time in your calendar (1–2 hours to start).
Phase 7: Launch week
- Go live and announce it everywhere with your launch offer.
- Welcome every new subscriber personally. First impressions count.
- Post daily and reply to messages promptly.
- Send your first mass PPV message by the end of the week.
- Note which promo posts drove the most clicks and do more of those.
Phase 8: The first 90 days
- Review your stats weekly: subscribers, churn, top posts, top PPVs.
- Test your pricing. Try a discount, a price rise or a new bundle.
- Collaborate with creators in a similar niche for cross-promotion.
- Schedule rest days and protect your mental health.
- Join a creator community for support and ideas. Apply to the Creator Lounge.
- Re-evaluate: DIY or get help? If admin is drowning you, consider a VA or an agency.
Pro move: save this page and come back to it at the end of every month. You’ll be amazed how much you’ve ticked off. If you’re launching on OnlyFans, you can create your account here and follow our beginner’s guide alongside this checklist.
